CMRC began the golf program in the summer of 2006.  The CMRC golf program has two components; on-course play sessions and instructional sessions by PGA golf instructors.  From 2007 - 2009 the golf program's home course was Glade Valley Golf Course.  Starting in 2010, the golf program relocated to the Worthington Manor Golf Club in Urbana, MD.

Due to the individuality of golf, parents are required to assist with the on-course play and instructional camps to make this program successful.  Parents have asked why the gold program requires parent volunteers -- Unlike team sports where there is one playing field, a golf course is spread out and a golf course does not have the staff to supervise children throughout 9 holes of golf.  With the CMRC program, the children are typically placed in threesomes or foursomes, with two adult volunteers.  The adults help the children keep score and pace of play, maintain good sportsmanship and respect, and reinforce golf etiquette.  This structure has worked well with the golf course and the CMRC program.  Having parent volunteers is a major reason golf courses are willing to work with our junior program.
